Day One - Friday, January 2, 2026

USA/SAN JOSE
Depart today for San Jose, Costa Rica. Upon arrival, make your way to the Hilton Doubletree Cariari for check-in with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day Two - Saturday, January 3, 2026

SAN JOSE/ARENAL
Following breakfast this morning, we transfer to Hacienda Doka Coffee Farm. Here, we discover the step-by-step process of seed germination to the first crop of plants. We also learn about the history of the estate, its owners, the production and varieties of plants, the geography of the area, and the traditional ways of cultivating grain. We also have the unique experience of visiting the oldest Wet Mill in Costa Rica, as well as its machinery of more than 120 years. Once the tour is over, we visit the farm's Casa Doka, where, in addition to tasting the Tres Generaciones coffee and chocolates, we will be able to buy liquors, local souvenirs, and art related to the experience.

Time permitting, we also have the chance to visit the butterfly house, bonsai garden, and hydroponic orchard. Following our time here, we transfer to the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. This private reserve of more than 70 acres features five waterfalls, safe hiking trails, and animal exhibits among other interesting attractions. The Hummingbird Garden attracts 26 different species. At the Butterfly Garden and on-site laboratory, you will have the opportunity to observe the most colourful species while learning about the lifecycle and metamorphosis of these beautiful creatures. La Casita de la Paz, a farmhouse reproduction, gives a cultural insight into the lives of rural Costa Ricans. We continue to Hotel Magic Mountain for check-in, with dinner included tonight.

Day Three - Sunday, January 4, 2026

ARENAL
Today we visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges. Located within the corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, the trails and bridges of this park will bring us as close as any person could ever imagine to observing the birds, flowers, and the lush vegetation of the primary rainforest. More than 50 bird species can be counted at this site that offers one of the most productive bird watching walks of the region.

We enjoy lunch at La Choza de Laurel Restaurant, before continuing to the EcoTermales Hot Springs. Originating from the hyper-thermal magnesia-filled waters, the waters have analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and muscle-relaxing properties. We enjoy the thermal pools which range from 32°C to 41° C (90°F to 106° F), together with the cool water pools and waterfall, and enjoy a relaxing hydro-massage. We enjoy dinner here before we return to our hotel for overnight.

Here we also discover the mangrove area with a high percentage of biodiversity among which there is a large number of waterfowl and one of the most important conservation areas of the Scarlet Macaw in the country. A boat will take us for a ride to an extensive mangrove ecosystem. As the boat approaches the sand banks around the river, we will have the opportunity to see crocodiles up close. The area of mangroves and the river has a population of over 250 different birds such as kingfisher, roseate spoonbills, blue heron and more.
